Application

The CSCAN485 and CSCAN485-2 are AC mains powered RS232 to RS422/ RS485 bidirectional converters respectively designed for Industrial applications. RS232 COM port legacy serial port normally provided with old desktop computers, PLC’s and controllers. RS232 port has limitation in communication distance and multi-dropping. The CSCAN485 & CSCAN485-2 provides solution to this problem.The RS232 port converted to RS485 can be re-converted to RS232 a the other end. This type of connection enables higher distance of communication, typically 1,2km and further using repeaters. Moreover the converter provides isolation between input and output thus protecting devices at both the ends.
